Newborn Diaper Stash

Hi Ladies, Victoria here.  I was shopping at the store this weekend for our two week old little one and it hit me that you might want to know what WE use at home too!

When my family moved across the country, literally, we left behind all of our belongings in Florida because we weren’t quite sure where we would end up.  Unfortunately, it took us longer to get settled in a new state than we planned and now we have found ourselves with a bouncing baby boy in Idaho, and our Newborn stash in storage in central Florida!  It is a little heartbreaking to have to start completely over, annnnndddd…. secretly at little fun too.

I started shopping at DivaDiapers five years ago and it has been the only place I have shopped online for Diapers ever since. [You can say I’m a loyal Diva (smile).]  The store and brands offered have changed a lot over the years + cloth diapering options have changed too.  My newborn stash in storage looks much different than the one I purchased this weekend.  I think it is a combination of trial and error, and finding the brands that work best for your own family.

If you ask ten cloth diapering families what their favorite brand is,

you are going to get several different answers.

As your probably already know, I’m a Thirsties mama,  but Blueberry is a brand I have wanted to try for several months.  I took the opportunity to restock for my newborn using a little of both;  I couldn’t resist those Blueberry AIOs with the belly button snap down middle and their affordable prefolds.

You are probably thinking, “that’s not a very big stash”.  I agree.  However, I wash daily to every other day because I am diapering a toddler too.  Additionally, my guy is a little big (8 lbs 10 oz at birth) so I know he won’t be in a Newborn size for very long.  IT IS IMPORTANT to use/buy Newborn diapers because you don’t want to put your little one in diapers that are too big.  Cloth diapers don’t fold down in the same manner as disposables.  Not using cloth diapers designed for newborns can cause concerns for the umbilical cord healing properly.
